TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Mark your calendars! Veterans Day is coming up on Tuesday, and before the big parade in Tallahassee, why not start with a little exercise?
The fourth annual Veterans Day 5K will kick off at 8 a.m., starting at the Vietnam Memorial, across from the Florida Capitol.
This memorial to memorial race highlights three veteran tributes in the capital city, including one for veterans of Leon County Schools and finishing with the Korean War Memorial at Cascades Park.

Co-veterans 5K race coordinator, Kristen Knapp, said that any veteran who participates in the race is also recognized with a veteran’s service medal from the Florida Veterans Foundation.
“This is really an opportunity for everyone who participates to remember that even though it’s a 5K and it’s running and walking, it’s not just about that,” Knapp said. “It’s also about making sure that they are all seeing these veterans and helping us honor them and celebrate them.”
There is still time to register for the 5K, and it is $25 to sign up by Monday, Nov. 10, at 6 p.m. After Monday, the cost is $35 to sign up.
