Charlotte Crown rally past Jacksonville to win inaugural UPSHOT championship
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. —
The Charlotte Crown rallied from a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit to defeat the Jacksonville Waves 81-76 on Saturday and win the inaugural UPSHOT League championship.
Charlotte trailed for much of the game before taking control in the fourth quarter. The Crown outscored Jacksonville 32-19 in the final period, overcoming the deficit and taking the lead in the closing minutes.
Deja Kelly led the way for Charlotte with a game-high 29 points and was named the championship’s Most Valuable Player.
Kelly’s performance was complemented by clutch 3-pointers from KK Deans and AD Durr, who each connected on three 3-pointers. LeLe Grissett also provided a strong presence on the boards, finishing with a team-high seven rebounds.
