Scattered and numerous lightning storm chances extend until late evening – Orlando Sentinel

Scattered to numerous lightning storms are expected around Central Florida.

Those storms are expected in the afternoon and evenings before ending around 9 p.m., according to NWS Melbourne.

Primary hazards include frequent lightning, wind gusts up to 50 mph and heavy rainfall.

A moderate risk for heat covers a majority of Central Florida except for Greater Orlando, which has a major risk for heat.

Temperatures are seasonably high in the 80s and 90s with heat indices peaking at 107 degrees.

There is a moderate risk for rip currents at all east Central Florida beaches.
