KISSIMMEE, Fla. (Aug. 30, 2026) – Orlando City B (9-9-7, 38 points) defeated Crown Legacy FC (13-5-7, 51 points) 3-2 on Sunday night in the Lions’ first home match in more than a month, finishing unbeaten in the three-match regular-season series between the sides.
The visitors opened the scoring in the sixth minute through Adrian Mendoza. After an initial effort struck the post, the rebound fell to Mendoza, who cut toward the center of the box and fired a low shot into the bottom right corner to give Crown Legacy a 1-0 lead.
After falling behind, the Lions continued to create chances in the attacking third and found an equalizer through Issah Haruna in the 31st minute. Pedro Leão played a weighted pass forward for the midfielder, who powered a left-footed strike from the top of the box into the lower left corner to pull Orlando City B level at 1-1 before halftime.
The goal was Haruna’s fifth of the campaign and second in as many matches after scoring in the Lions’ previous outing against Atlanta United 2.
One minute after the restart, 16-year-old Matthew Belgodere scored his fifth goal of the 2026 MLS NEXT Pro campaign to give the Lions a 2-1 lead. The Academy player forced a turnover deep in Crown Legacy’s defensive third before driving centrally and finishing into the lower right corner.
Two minutes later, Orlando City SC midfielder Gustavo Caraballo extended the Lions’ lead. Sent through on goal by Haruna, Caraballo drew Crown Legacy goalkeeper Jahiem Wickham off his line before lifting his shot into the back of the net for his fifth goal of the season.
Crown Legacy pulled one back in the 54th minute when a lofted effort to the back post deflected off Orlando City B midfielder Ignacio Gomez and into the net, trimming the Lions’ advantage. Orlando City B held firm defensively over the final stages to secure all three points.
Orlando City B will head south to face intrastate rival Inter Miami CF II on Friday, Sept. 4, at Inter Miami CF Stadium (7 p.m. ET | OneFootball, MLSNEXTPro.com).
