TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A Crawfordville man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to chatting online and attempting to meet someone he thought was a minor, according to the Northern District of Florida U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Anthony Lanier, Jr., was sentenced to 10 years in prison, the attorney’s office wrote in a press release.
His sentencing comes after he was arrested back in November following an undercover Tallahassee Police sting, WCTV previously reported. The 33-year-old was accused of chatting online with an undercover officer posing as a 15-year-old, his arrest documents revealed.

Before his arrest, Lanier, Jr, repeatedly asked the child to send inappropriate photos, sent a picture of his genitalia and asked to commit sexual acts on the child and her friend, according to the attorney’s office.
He then drove to an agreed-upon location, where the attorney’s office said he believed he would be meeting the child but was instead arrested by authorities.
He will be on supervised release for 20 years once he is released from prison.
