Former NFL receiver Damoun Patterson arrested after Orlando home invasion

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A former NFL wide receiver has been taken into custody over his ties to “multiple felony offenses,” according to the Daytona Beach Police Department.

In a release, police said that the former player — identified as Damoun Patterson, 31 — had been arrested on Aug. 22, and he now faces the following charges:

Grand theft of a motor vehicle

Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon

Criminal mischief

Armed burglary of a dwelling

An arrest affidavit obtained by News 6 shows that Patterson had been identified as the suspect in a home invasion out of Orlando.

Around 1 a.m. on Aug. 22, officers found Patterson in a stolen vehicle in the 700 block of Silver Beach Avenue, leading to his capture, the affidavit shows.

Furthermore, investigators said that a “machete-style knife” was discovered in the front passenger seat of the vehicle.

Jail records show that Patterson is held without bond. He has previously spent time with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the New England Patriots.

News 6 has reached out to the Orlando Police Deaprtment for more information about the case and is awaiting a response.
