The Chicago White Sox reinstated left-hander Tyler Schweitzer from the paternity list Monday ahead of their series opener at Houston and optioned left-hander Tyler Gilbert to Triple-A Charlotte.
The club announced the moves on X on Monday morning.
Schweitzer went on the paternity list Friday before the series in Minnesota. Gilbert was recalled from Charlotte the same day to fill the roster spot. With Schweitzer back, Gilbert returns to the Knights.
The 25-year-old Schweitzer, a 2022 fifth-round pick out of Ball State, has a 1-0 record and 3.64 ERA in 14 relief appearances this season. He has thrown 29.2 innings with 16 strikeouts and 10 walks.
