The fall semester is underway, and the Coral Gables Campus is bustling with activity. So is the calendar of events—more than 500 each year—at the University of Miami’s performance halls, venues and galleries. These programs include musical performances, cutting-edge theatrical premieres, thought-provoking lectures, author readings, art exhibitions and film screenings, which reflect the University’s multicultural vibrancy.

Lowe Art Museum offers a space to pause, connect.
As the University’s academic museum and Miami’s first and longest continuously operating art museum, the Lowe Art Museum boasts a permanent collection representing 5,000 years of human creativity across every inhabited continent. Museum patrons may access exhibitions throughout the year with free general admission and purchase tickets to attend public programs. Every month, the Lowe hosts free expert-led tours, a virtual “Slow Looking” program and an in-person art workshop for families. Throughout the year, the museum also presents exhibition opening receptions, guest lectures and other special programs.

Authors, guest speakers take a deep dive.
The Center for the Humanities supports a variety of public programs for the University and South Florida community, including signature events such as the Henry King Stanford Distinguished Professors in the Humanities Series, the Lady Blanka Rosenstiel Endowed Program in Polish Heritage, the Edith Bleich Speaker Series and BookTalks featuring University faculty authors.
The University Libraries, ranked among the top 50 academic research libraries in North America, organizes numerous in-person and virtual programs and events, which are open to the University community and public. Additionally, the exhibitions program provides access to the libraries’ rich and diverse archival collections while highlighting unique and rare holdings.

Part of the Department of Art and Art History in the College of Arts and Sciences, the University of Miami Art Gallery @ The Chapel exhibits works by graduate and undergraduate students, faculty members and renowned artists throughout the year. Student works can also be viewed in the online gallery.
This month, University theatre arts students take the stage at the Jerry Herman Theatre, starting the season Sept. 24 with a production of “Treasure Island: A New Adventure,” a beloved tale of pirates, buried treasure and high-seas excitement in a fun, zippy new adaptation. Complimentary tickets are available to all University students and faculty and staff members on a first come, first served basis as “rush” tickets, which can be obtained on the day of the performance by presenting a valid Cane ID at the door. All other tickets must be purchased online, in person or over the phone at 305-284-3355.
At the Frost School of Music, Signature Series concerts are the highlight of the season, featuring renowned international artists performing alongside Frost School ensembles. These concerts offer a unique opportunity to enjoy world-class music at an unbeatable price. Opening the season Sept. 6, the Frost Music Live concert series includes more than 100 events on the Coral Gables Campus each academic school year.

Located in the Oscar E. Dooly Memorial Classroom Building, the Bill Cosford Cinema is a single-screen, art house cinema that has served the University, Coral Gables, and greater Miami for more than 60 years. Voted the 2026 Best Art House Cinema in Miami by Miami New Times, Cosford Cinema programs include educational opportunities ranging from special lecture series, guest scholars, international film festivals and engagements with acclaimed filmmakers.
The School of Architecture offers events throughout the year that are open to the public, including its annual Tecnoglass Lecture Series, which kicks off at the Jorge M. Perez Architecture Center’s Stanley and Jewell Glasgow Lecture Hall Sept. 9 with a lecture by Alejandro Restrepo Montoya of Estudio Central.
