Even after a quarrel with county commissioners over funding, Creative Pinellas is still loud.

The arts nonprofit turns up at FloridaRama (stylized FloridaRAMA) this weekend for a fundraiser and exhibition featuring about 75 pieces across all mediums. Curated by pretty much lifelong Bay area scene supporter Maggie Duffy, this weekend’s opening includes live music (DJ Austen van der Bleek, Liz Glushko on cello loops, and soprano Jodi Karem), along with works in “film, painting, photography, glass, ceramics, mixed media sculpture, and assemblage.”

Highlights on the lineup on display through Nov. 1 include multimedia artist Sarah Nakano, painter Patricia Moses, Argentine-American artist and sculptor Cecilia Lueza, fine art photographer Geoffrey Baris (his “Wired” photograph rear printed to plexiglass, pictured) and Creative Loafing Tampa Bay illustrator Cory Robinson.

Access to the party is within reach for most folks, with a reasonable VIP option out there for the newgen ballers.

Tickets for Creative Pinellas’ “Amped: Turn Up for the Arts” opening reception happening Saturday, Sept. 5 at FloridaRama in St. Petersburg are still available and start at $25.
