MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — Tiger Woods is set to appear in Martin County court Wednesday for a plea conference in the DUI case stemming from his March rollover crash on Jupiter Island.
Woods’ attorney, Douglas Duncan, filed a notice Tuesday setting the hearing for 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, before Judge Darren Steele at the Martin County Courthouse in Stuart. The filing lists the subject of the hearing as a “Change of Plea.”
The development marks a change from Woods’ previous position in the case. In March, the 50-year-old golf legend entered a not guilty plea to misdemeanor charges of DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test.
It is not yet clear from the newly filed notice what plea Woods intends to enter Wednesday or whether the hearing is part of a negotiated plea agreement.

The charges stem from a March 27 crash on South Beach Road on Jupiter Island. Investigators said Woods attempted to pass a pickup truck towing a trailer, crossed double solid lines and struck the trailer, causing his Range Rover SUV to roll onto its side.
Deputies who responded reported several signs of possible impairment, including bloodshot and glassy eyes, dilated pupils and slow, lethargic movements. They also found two pills later identified as hydrocodone in Woods’ pocket, according to the arrest affidavit.
Woods told deputies he had been looking down at his phone and adjusting his radio before the crash. A breath test showed no alcohol in his system, but authorities said he refused a urine test.
The case has continued through the summer, including a judge’s ruling allowing prosecutors access to Woods’ medical records related to the case.
