Half coffee shop and half bookstore with a slogan that reads, “Sip, Read, Gather,” Pulp & Press is a welcoming fixture in Fort Lauderdale’s Victoria Park neighborhood. Head inside and you’ll find a cozy space for locals and visitors to slow down, connect over a great cup of coffee and explore new literature.
Founded earlier this year by Gina Cavendish, the beloved cafe and bookshop is turning the page and introducing the community to its new identity this weekend. A community celebration on Saturday, September 5 will unveil a new name and refreshed aesthetic for the business, and South Floridians are invited to join!
What to expect for their next chapter
During the event, which will feature a ribbon-cutting with Cavendish and City Commissioner Steven Glassman, the spot will reveal a freshly painted storefront, new interior art and never-before-seen signage. There will also be a curated “Fall in Love This Fall” romance book display alongside branded giveaways, 10% off Romantasy books and other surprises.
The ribbon-cutting takes place at 11:30 a.m., but you’ll want to be there especially early. The first 100 customers will score a free cookie baked fresh that morning! Additionally, guests can enjoy 10% off the newly launched menu.

“We live in a time when we are more connected than ever, and yet real connection has become increasingly rare,” said Cavendish in a statement. “We built this as a place that invites people to slow down and simply be with one another, where stories begin and unfold, and where anyone can belong. This next chapter is our love letter to that idea, and to the community that has made this place its own.”
