WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — Pres. Donald Trump is throwing his support behind former Boca Raton Mayor Scott Singer in the race for Florida’s redrawn 25th Congressional District.

Trump announced the endorsement Tuesday on Truth Social, calling Singer an “America First Patriot” and a “Proven Leader,” and lashing out on Democratic incumbent Jared Moskowitz:

Singer thanked the president on Facebook for the endorsement shortly after the announcement, saying in part:

I look forward to building on your successes that have helped South Florida families: the biggest tax cuts in history, secure borders that made our streets safer, the biggest drop in violent crime ever, stronger defense, record employment, and standing with our ally Israel and against antisemitism.”

Singer served as Boca Raton mayor from 2018 until 2026 and previously served on the city council.

He announced his congressional campaign on a platform focused on lower taxes, stronger borders and national defense.

“We deserve accountability from Congress. Leaders should prioritize results over headlines,” Singer said when announcing his campaign.

Moskowitz was first elected to Congress in 2022 and currently represents Florida’s 23rd District. Florida’s new congressional map shifted him into the newly configured 25th District for the 2026 election.

Ballotpedia has identified the Nov. 3 race as a battleground. Trump carried the district’s current boundaries over Kamala Harris in 2024, 54.2% to 45%.
