CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — The Clay County Sheriff’s Office assisted in taking a vehicular homicide suspect wanted out of Duval County into custody on Tuesday afternoon.
Clay Sheriff Michelle Cook said the U.S. Marshals and the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office asked for CCSO’s assistance in the SWAT call, as the Marshals had tracked him to a home on Vineyard Lane in Oakleaf Plantation.

The man was also wanted on violation of probation, Cook said in a Facebook Live.
Deputies worked with the Marshals and JSO to “encourage him” to give up by talking to him and putting “gas” into the home, Cook said.

Cook said he was taken into custody and will be transported to the Duval County Jail. Action News Jax has learned that Alexander Rivera-Russo was taken into custody for the Jan. 2 crash that killed 27-year-old Savana Pendarvis, JSO said.
Cook thanked people in the surrounding homes who had to evacuate for their cooperation with deputies.
