The City of Winter Park is continuing to work on Park Avenue’s glow-up. The first phase of the refresh runs from Webster Avenue to Garfield Avenue and includes new street lights, sidewalk repairs, larger planter boxes and more.

According to Clarissa Howard, City of Winter Park communications director, this phase will wrap up on time before the holiday shopping season gets underway.
“We are so grateful to the businesses for their support and working with us as we invested into the reliability and longevity of the Avenue with needed infrastructure repairs, safety improvements, technological advancements and aesthetic enhancements,” Howard said in an email. “We are looking forward to even more improvements as we continue Phase 2 of the Refresh in the new year.”

Phase 2 of the project is scheduled for January 2027 and will affect Park Avenue between Garfield and New England avenues, which includes Central Park on the west side. Construction on the last phase, between New England and Fairbanks avenues, is expected to start in January 2028.
