STUART/JENSEN BEACH — The news of 11 Maple Street’s upcoming closing was quickly followed by announcements from two other Martin County eateries.
CoLab Kitchen, a farm-to-table café, bar and bakery on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Stuart, announced Aug. 31 that it will close, according to posts on the restaurant’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
“It is with heavy hearts that we share that CoLab Kitchen will be closing its doors,” the posts said. “While this chapter of CoLab is coming to a close, our story here is not finished. We are taking some time to reimagine this space and what comes next, and we are excited to welcome you back soon in a new form.”
CoLab Kitchen opened in 2021 at the site formerly occupied by Ground Floor Farm, which closed in 2019 after four years in business.
The restaurant did not provide additional details, though it was noted that the restaurant is closed.
CoLab Kitchen owners or representatives could not be reached for comment.
Meanwhile, Broth Handcrafted Soups in downtown Jensen Beach also announced its closing on social media.
“I have decided to close Broth permanently,” owner Carolyn Perkins said in an Aug. 31 Facebook post.
Located in Pineapple Passage Plaza, Broth opened in May 2025. Perkins, who co-owns Fleet Feet stores in Stuart and Port St. Lucie with her husband, Edgar Perkins, will continue operating both stores.
The restaurant announcements come as another popular Jensen Beach eatery prepares to close.
11 Maple Street is scheduled to close Sept. 26, according to previous reports. The acclaimed restaurant is expected to be reimagined under new ownership and reopen Oct. 8 under the same name.
