Mayor Kenneth T. Welch announced the selection of the Pinellas County Housing Authority and The Burg Bid proposals for the Historic Gas Plant District redevelopment project. These selections were made following multiple public comment opportunities, a thorough evaluation of each proposal’s strength and weaknesses, two meetings with shortlisted development teams, and site visits to their Bay Area projects.
Community input guided the selection process, and proposals were evaluated against the community’s priorities of supporting jobs, housing, economic opportunity, and honoring the promises made to the community when the land was first acquired.
