Construction continues at Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge, where more elements of the resort’s water complex are now staged along the water’s edge.
Disney Lakeshore Lodge Construction Update
Work remains active throughout the waterfront resort, which is taking shape along Bay Lake between Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.
Themed elements are emerging around Otter Springs, an interactive water-play area intended for younger guests. The lower portions of several oversized blades of grass depicted in Disney’s concept art have now been installed. These towering green elements will help create the impression that children have been reduced to the size of the animals and plants inhabiting the wetlands.
Crews have also begun transforming some of the resort’s exposed steel supports with a wood-like finish. Several large supports now have a reddish-brown coating that helps them resemble structural timber, allowing the modern hotel building to better blend with its nature-inspired theme.
A boom lift was extended to one of the upper floors during our visit as crews continued installing and finishing exterior panels. The resort’s façade is gradually becoming more cohesive, with pale green walls, dark gray columns, tree-inspired murals, decorative balcony panels, and reddish-brown accents now covering much of the previously exposed structure.
The tall tree murals on the water side of the hotel appear mostly complete.
Workers were also observed at the Lakeshore Lodge boat dock along Bay Lake. Most of the steel framework for the dock’s overhead covering appears to have been installed.
The waterfront Lake Houses continue to progress at different rates. Some of the individual A-frame accommodations look relatively far along, with completed shingle roofs, expansive windows, dark structural beams, and much of their exterior paneling installed. Other Lake Houses remain visibly unfinished. Sections of exterior walls are still exposed on some structures, while construction equipment and materials surround the buildings.
Construction also continues on the central lobby porte-cochère, where the dramatically angled rooflines are covered with protective material and temporary railings. Much of the structure remains wrapped, but its broad glass façade and layered roof design are already visible.
Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge
Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge will feature 967 accommodations, including studios, suites, villas, and the waterfront Lake Houses. Disney recently confirmed that Lakeshore Lodge will officially open on July 1, 2027.
Before the grand opening, Disney Vacation Club members will have an opportunity to stay at the resort through the exclusive “First Wave” Experience. The three-night preview will run from June 24 through June 27, 2027, and include theme park admission, special dining experiences, commemorative keepsakes, and more. Reservations for the experience are scheduled to open on November 7, 2026, at 10 a.m.
Disney also recently revealed three resort restaurants and new concept art for the lobby and fireworks lounge, while earlier artwork provided a closer look at The Wetlands recreation area.
