Orange County dengue case prompts mosquito control response

The Florida Department of Health in Orange County has confirmed a human case of locally acquired dengue.

Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral infection.

DOH-Orange and Orange County Mosquito Control are coordinating their surveillance and prevention efforts by expanding coverage within affected communities.

Response measures have been enhanced through targeted mosquito control treatments to help reduce mosquito populations.

DOH-Orange reminds the community to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes by taking basic precautions, such as using bug spray or wearing clothing that covers your skin in settings where mosquitoes may be present.
