How much rain has fallen recently in Southwest Florida?
Rain totals from late August to Wednesday, Sept. 2 show several areas on Florida’s Gulf Coast with more than 6″ of rain.

More than a half-foot of much-needed rain fell over some neighborhoods along the Gulf Coast in the past week.
Those values are based on Doppler radar-estimated rain totals covering the last days of August and the first two days of September.

In Lee County, there have been three regions of the county that have picked up more than 6″ of rain in the past seven days.
Region 1: Cape Coral
Two parts of Cape Coral have received more than 6″ of rain in the last week.
The first part is along Cape Coral Parkway to the west of Pelican Boulevard and to the east of Sands Boulevard in the southwest corner of the city.

The second region in Cape Coral to pick up more than 6″ of rain is in the northwest corner of the city along Pine Island Road to the west of Veterans Parkway.
Region 2: South Lee County
Many neighborhoods along Treeline Avenue between Daniels Parkway and Alico Road have picked up more than 6″ of rain since late August.
Doppler radar data points to the biggest totals exceeding 7″ near Southwest Florida International Airport.

A handful of neighborhoods near Williams Road in Estero and around Bonita Bay in Bonita Springs also received significant rain in the past week.

Region 3: Eastern Lehigh Acres
The north-to-south stretch of Joel Boulevard in eastern Lehigh Acres was a rainy part of our community over the course of the past week.
Radar-estimated rain totals including the last days of August show up to 7″ of rain along Joel Boulevard.

Outside of Lee County, similar rain totals have appeared in areas of Collier County, with the exception of Marco Island.
Marco Island has seen significantly less rain as compared to the rest of the county in the past week. Rain amounts exceeding 6″ are shown on the map below in purple.

Though no communities in Charlotte or DeSoto picked up more than 6″ of rain in the past week, Doppler radar-estimated values do show many areas with between 2 and 3″.
