FORT PIERCE – More than 33 pounds of marijuana, an arsenal of weapons and more than $150,000 in cash were seized by St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office deputies during a search warrant at a Fort Pierce home on Sept. 2, according to a sheriff’s office Facebook posting.
On Sept. 2, detectives, along with the SWAT team and U.S. Marshals Service, went to a home in 700 block of Cedar Place, Fort Pierce, with a search warrant for possession of a controlled substance by Stacy Tyrner, 59, according to the Facebook posting.
Detectives also recovered numerous boxes of ammunition corresponding to the calibers of the recovered firearms; additional firearm parts and components; drug paraphernalia; packaging materials, a currency counter; and other items consistent with the sale and distribution of narcotics, according to the Facebook posting.
Tyrner, who deputies say is a convicted felon prohibited from possessing firearms, was charged with sale/delivery of a controlled substance; trafficking in marijuana; possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; possession of drug paraphernalia.
Tyrner was booked into the St. Lucie County Jail where he remained as of Sept. 3 on no bond on the charges.
“Drugs destroy lives and fuel crime, and we will not allow criminals to profit from that destruction,” Sheriff Richard Del Toro said in the Facebook posting. “I commend our Special Investigations Division, SWAT Team, and the United States Marshals Service for their outstanding work getting drugs, illegal firearms, and illicit cash off our streets. This is another step toward our goal of making St. Lucie County the safest county in Florida.”
