Man charged in random Stuart stabbing found incompetent to stand trial after dog-walker attack

A man charged with first-degree premeditated murder in a random stabbing in Stuart has been found incompetent to stand trial, according to court documents.

The documents show that 25-year-old Kersten Francilus has been ordered to a state hospital.

Francilus was charged after a stabbing in a Stuart neighborhood in April. Authorities said he stabbed a woman walking her dog more than a dozen times.

Deputies said the attack appeared to be random.

The victim died at the hospital.
