JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Charges have been dropped against a woman who was arrested on July 8 after investigators said they linked her to the sale of 34 gold coins worth $240,000 stolen from a FedEx distribution center in March, court records show.
She was released from jail on Aug. 27.

Jennifer Owens was booked by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, which paraded her in a “perp walk” after the arrest.
Owens told investigators from the beginning that she sold the coins, valued at over $240,000, but never knew they were stolen. She said they were given to her by her husband, Victor Owens.
The coins were taken March 18 from the FedEx facility on Commonwealth Avenue, according to JSO.
Victor Owens, 50, was arrested June 24 and faces charges including grand theft of more than $100,000 and dealing in stolen property. Court records show a previous charge of false verification of ownership on a pawnbroker transaction form has been dropped.
JSO said Victor Owens got the coins by working for the Logistive Delivery LLC company and picking up boxes from the FedEx warehouse.
He told police he thought the person who was supposed to get the package was dead, but the man was alive and well in Clay County.
The State Attorney’s Office dropped the charges against Jennifer Owens, who reached out to News4JAX to alert us to the update in her case.
