Ft. Pierce, FL/CBS12 News — A Ft. Pierce man, a convicted felon, is under arrest after deputies seized a large amount of drugs, cash and several guns from his home.

Stacey Tyrner, 59, is facing charges of Sale/Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Trafficking in Marijuana, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On Wednesday, the Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, U.S. Marshals Service and deputies served a search warrant at Tyrner’s house on Cedar Place in Ft. Pierce.

Detectives got 33 pounds of marijuana, more than $150,000 cash and several guns.

The Sheriff’s Office says they also seized numerous boxes of ammo, firearm parts and components, drug paraphernalia and a device used to count money.

Tyrner is a convicted felon and he is prohibited from possessing firearms.

Tyrner’s home is less than a block away from Dream Chasers Pre-School, where about 100 children are enrolled.

“I think that’s crazy! ‘Cause I’m like, there’s kids, and you could clearly see this is a daycare. It’s a big daycare! I appreciate the cops for doing their job and doing their due diligence and getting them off the street, especially so close to our daycare, because we do have kids on the playgrounds. We do have kids that walk home. So we do appreciate everything that’s been done.” said Tatyana Peterkin, Dream Chasers Pre- School Director.

There’s also a church, Mission For Christ Tabernacle, less than a block from Tyrner’s house on Cedar Place.

The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office says the street value of marijuana is $300 to $400 per ounce. That means the 33 pounds of marijuana seized at Tyrner’s home would have a street value of $158,400 to $211, 200.

No one came to the door when we went to Tyrner’s home seeking comment. A man who identified himself at Tyrner’s son stopped by the house briefly and said he had no comment.

According to the arrest report, a confidential informant working with the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office went to Hot Spot Car Wash in Ft. Pierce last month and made a controlled purchase of marijuana from Tyrner.

Tyrner is free on $46,000 bond.
