PUNTA GORDA — The Freshwater Module of the Florida Master Naturalist Program has seats available for those interested.
It is offered in Charlotte County by UF/IFAS Extension Florida Sea Grant. It is taught six consecutive Fridays starting Oct. 2, according to a news release.
According to the news release, it “will include lectures on Florida’s unique ecosystems and wildlife as well as field trips around Charlotte County.”
The lectures will mainly be in Punta Gorda. Registration for the course is $350; those interested can pay an extra $75 for a paper copy of the learning materials, it noted.
“The Florida Master Naturalist Program is an adult education program developed by the University of Florida and provided by participating organizations,” it stated. “Upon graduation from the freshwater module, uplands module, and coastal module, students earn the certification of Florida Master Naturalist. Florida Sea Grant is also offering the uplands module and coastal module in 2027.”
