JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (WBRC) – Jacksonville High School’s football program has been fined and placed on probation due to violating an Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) rule.
AHSAA said the high school was penalized for playing an ineligible player that was in violation of the AHSAA’s transfer rule.
Officials said as a result, the high school’s varsity football program must forfeit all games won that the student participated in, which was one game.
AHSAA said the ineligible player was assessed restitution for the contests he played in while ineligible.
Jacksonville High School self-reported the violation, AHSAA officials said.
