  • September 5, 2026

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating two separate shootings that left two people injured, including a late-teen male who was shot in the neck and taken to a hospital by an unidentified person.

In the first incident, officers responded at about 10:58 p.m. to Jackson Street after a report of a person shot. The victim, a man, was being treated for his injuries and cooperating with investigators, detectives said.

In the second incident, officers responded at about 9:09 p.m. to a local hospital, where they found a late-teen male with a gunshot wound to the neck.

The victim told investigators he was riding in a vehicle when he felt a sharp pain in his neck and realized he had been shot. An unidentified person drove him to the hospital but left before officers could make contact.

The victim was cooperating with investigators but could not provide the location of the shooting or information about a possible suspect. Police have not located a crime scene and have no suspect information.

Anyone with information about either shooting is asked to call the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office at 904-630-0500, email JSOCRIMETIPS@JAXSHERIFF.ORG or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
