GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Aaron Philo threw for three touchdowns and Jadan Baugh ran for 160 yards and three scores as Florida defeated Florida Atlantic 66-21 on Saturday night.

Florida raced to a 38-14 halftime lead and finished with 624 yards of total offense. Philo completed 16 of 21 passes for 275 yards, connecting with Vernell Brown III for a 49-yard touchdown in the opener’s first quarter. Baugh added touchdown runs of 3, 12, 7 and 61 yards.

Caden Veltkamp threw for 276 yards and a touchdown for Florida Atlantic, but had two interceptions and a lost fumble. Kelby Valsin caught 10 passes for 92 yards and a score for the Owls.

Backup quarterback Tramell Jones Jr. threw a late touchdown pass for Florida, which improved to 1-0. Florida Atlantic fell to 0-1.
