PALM CITY — The community will gather Friday, Sept. 11, for an annual 9/11 Memorial Tribute honoring those who lost their lives in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and recognizing the first responders and others who served in their aftermath.

The patriotic tribute will begin at 7 p.m. in front of the 9/11 monument at the Peter & Julie Cummings Library, 2551 SW Matheson Ave., in Palm City.

The event will feature patriotic music, bagpipes, a posting of the colors and remarks from guest speakers, community leaders and first responders.

A local chorus also will participate in the program. The ceremony will include candle-lighting and wreath- and rose-laying ceremonies as attendees come together to remember the victims and honor those who answered the call to serve.

Organizers describe the event as a patriotic tribute for all ages and encourage community members to attend.
