Streets in downtown St. Pete are flooded due to a water main break, St. Petersburg Police announced Tuesday morning.

A 12-inch water main pipe broke, causing flooding that spans Central Ave, 1st Avenue North and 16th Street.

SPD says crews are on-site working on repairs.

Police urge drivers to take alternate routes to avoid the flooding.

No timeline for reopening was immediately provided.
