During last week’s Village of Key Biscayne Council meeting, members unanimously approved a site plan at Beach Park for a stormwater pump station and four wells, but a back-up generator was declared optional at this point by Village Manager Steve Williamson, unless the federal government mandates one.
Councilman Ed London and Council candidate Luis de la Cruz were among those saying that the generator (and its electrical platform), which takes up space and can be noisy at times, is not needed.
The pump station would be housed in the Garden District, just outside of Beach Park, near the Domino’s area.
Meanwhile, the particulars of an improved Village-wide drainage system are still being discussed.
