Ahead of Veterans Day on Tuesday, Cape Coral hosted its annual parade, where hundreds gathered along Cape Coral Parkway to Chester Street to watch veterans, city officials, and volunteers march in patriotic attire.High school marching bands and JROTC teams also participated in this year’s parade, and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office had one of the biggest floats.”Our veterans are the most amazing people in the world and we can never forget what they’ve done,” Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno said. “Those who paid the ultimate sacrifice, they’ve left their families to give us freedom, right?”Freedom isn’t free,” Marceno said. “We have to fight for it and we have to maintain it. So our veterans are the most amazing people. God bless them.
