TECO Peoples Gas has strengthened its external affairs team with the addition of Nicholas “Nick” Roch, regional manager of external affairs.

Over nearly four years in the Florida Legislature, Roch developed strong policy and political expertise. Most recently, he served as senior legislative aide to state Sen. Jonathan Martin where he led policy development and legislative initiative.

“Nick was instrumental to many of our office’s legislative successes during his time with our office,” Martin said. “He was successful in managing an incredibly high number of bills that were signed into law — over 50 in three years. He will be a tremendous asset to those he works with in the future.”

Before his time in the Senate, Roch supported legislative efforts for Rep. Tiffany Esposito in the state House of Representatives.

“Peoples Gas made a great hire in Nick Roch. From campaign staffer to policy aficionado, Nick was proactive in connecting with our community and skilled at building support among key stakeholders,” Esposito said.

Prior to his work in state government, Roch worked on local and state political campaigns throughout Southwest Florida, gaining experience in stakeholder outreach, government relations strategy and community engagement.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Nick to our team. His deep bench of relationships, years of experience in state government and born-and-raised approach to Southwest Florida makes him a natural fit for this role,” said Kandi Floyd, director of external affairs at TECO Peoples Gas.

In his role at Peoples Gas, Roch will lead governmental, political and industry relationships in the greater Southwest Florida service area. In addition, he will support permitting operations, infrastructure projects and emergency response functions, in coordination with local government stakeholders.
