Hawkins, Inc. HWKN has expanded its Water Treatment business in Florida by acquiring the assets of Dave Symonds & Associates, Inc. The tuck-in acquisition strengthens Hawkins’ customer reach in Florida and supports the company’s strategy to grow this segment.

Dave Symonds distributes water treatment products, primarily blended phosphates used for corrosion control and sequestration, to water treatment customers in Florida. The company has built a loyal customer base, which Hawkins expects to continue supporting following the acquisition. The acquisition is therefore expected to help Hawkins expand its presence among water treatment customers in Florida while continuing to serve the existing customer base.

Acquisitions, a part of Hawkins’ Water Treatment segment growth strategy, provided $6.9 million in added sales in the first quarter of fiscal 2027. Continued growth in the company’s legacy product lines also contributed to the increase. Another significant step towards the achievement of the company’s broader goal is the purchase of Aqua-Chem, Inc., a distributor of water treatment products mainly in Nebraska and Iowa.

HWKN shares have lost 24.9% in the past year against the industry’s 0.9% decline.
