There is no mystery about where I stand on Mike Redondo. I strongly support him. Miami-Dade needs representatives in Tallahassee who understand where they came from, understand the problems facing our community and, most importantly, are willing to fight to get something done. Redondo has shown us that he is that kind of representative.

Since going to the Florida House, Redondo has built a record that deserves attention. He has worked on issues involving education, health care, housing, infrastructure, public safety and economic development, while pushing to bring state funding back to Miami-Dade. His work has included major funding requests involving FIU, Miami Dade College, entrepreneurship, health care and PortMiami. That is what I want from a state representative — someone who goes to Tallahassee and fights for the people back home.

I have been around Miami-Dade politics and government for a long time, and I have seen plenty of elected officials make promises when they are looking for votes. What separates the good ones from the rest is what they do after they are elected. Mike Redondo has demonstrated that he is willing to put in the work, take on important issues and fight for the investments our community needs. He understands that every dollar Miami-Dade sends to Tallahassee should be fought for when it comes time to bring those dollars back home.

And we have plenty to fight for. Miami-Dade is growing, but growth brings enormous challenges. Our roads and infrastructure are under pressure, housing remains too expensive for too many working families, insurance continues to hurt homeowners and businesses, and our schools and colleges need continued investment. At the same time, we must continue building an economy that creates good jobs and gives young people a reason to stay here. These are the battles that will determine what Miami-Dade looks like 10 and 20 years from now.

That is why Redondo’s future in Tallahassee matters. He is young, energetic and understands that being elected is not the finish line — it is the beginning of the job. Miami-Dade needs leaders who are going to be there for the long fight, not just the next election. Redondo has the opportunity to become one of those leaders, and I believe we should give him that opportunity.

I also believe there is something important about having someone representing us who understands Miami-Dade personally. Redondo grew up here and knows the community he represents. He understands the people, the businesses and the neighborhoods that make this county special. That connection matters because Tallahassee can be a long way from Miami, and we need representatives who never forget who sent them there.

Mike Redondo has earned our support.

He has earned it by showing up, doing the work and fighting for Miami-Dade. He has earned it by understanding that this job is not about the title or the paycheck — it is about representing the people who put their trust in you.

That is why Miami Community Newspapers strongly supports and endorses Mike Redondo for State Representative.

We don’t make this endorsement lightly. We believe in supporting people who have demonstrated that they will work for our community, and Mike Redondo has demonstrated exactly that.

Miami-Dade needs Mike Redondo in Tallahassee.

We need his energy. We need his experience. We need his fight. And we need him to keep working for us.

Mike Redondo has earned our support — and he has our full endorsement.
