Benchmark General Contractors has promoted Doug Hrabik, previously the firm’s senior project manager, to vice president of operations. In the role, he will take full ownership of the Fort Myers-based company’s construction operations from preconstruction through project closeout.
Hrabik leads Benchmark’s project management, field and permitting functions, directing project managers, superintendents and the firm’s permit coordinator. He is accountable for schedule, budget, quality, safety and margin performance across every active project, and for the operational systems and standards that support the company’s continued growth in Southwest Florida.
“Doug brings the kind of experience that is hard to find – he has run projects, run crews and run his own company,” said Brad Nickel, president of Benchmark General Contractors. “He has made an immediate impact since joining us, and he understands what it takes to deliver work on time and on budget without compromising quality or safety. Hrabik joined Benchmark as senior project manager in October 2025 and brings more than 30 years of experience in commercial construction. He previously spent 15 years as owner and president of Cassnik Contracting LLC, overseeing 30 to 40 projects a year nationwide. Earlier in his career, he held project management, estimating and marketing roles with Marco Contractors and 84 Lumber Company.

Hrabik holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Robert Morris University and lives in Cape Coral.
