TAMPA, Fla. (September 9, 2026) – The University of South Florida volleyball team makes its home debut at the South Florida Invitational. South Florida welcomes No. 11 TCU, Dayton, and Michigan to Tampa beginning Thursday, Sept. 10, at 6 p.m. on ESPN+. The Bulls face the Dayton Flyers on Friday, followed by the Michigan Wolverines on Saturday. Both matches will be at 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
On Thursday, fans can pick up a 2026 schedule poster while supplies last. Fans should stick around after Thursday’s match for autographs with your South Florida volleyball team. On Friday, October 2, South Florida students can enter to win raffle prizes. On Sunday, October 4, fans in attendance can receive South Florida glow sticks. On October 21, fans can receive a South Florida rally towel.
After an outstanding week at the net, Amelia Wass de Czege was named the American Conference Defensive Player of the Week. She led the Bulls and the American Conference with 1.71 blocks per set. She also led South Florida with 12 blocks in just seven sets and produced a team-high six blocks against No. 4 Stanford.
Stout Blocking
South Florida ranks among the NCAA’s best in blocks. The Bulls are tied for 17th with 2.89 blocks per set. Wass de Czege is eighth in the country with 1.69 blocks per set.
Yaya Killing It
Iyanna Garvin leads the team with a hitting percentage of .379. She is 11 blocks away from reaching 200 career blocks.
Know the Foes
The Bulls and the Horned Frogs will meet for the sixth time on Thursday. South Florida holds a 3-2 series edge. The Bulls are 2-0 at home against the Horned Frogs.
South Florida and Dayton will meet for the fifth time. The Flyers hold a 3-1 series lead. This will be the first meeting on either team’s home court.
The Bulls and Wolverines will meet for the third time on Saturday. Michigan leads the series 2-0, and it will be the second meeting in Tampa.

About South Florida Volleyball
Head coach Jolene Shepardson enters her seventh season at the helm of her alma mater in 2026. Named head coach on January 8, 2020, as a player she helped lead the Bulls to two conference championships and a pair of NCAA tournament appearances. As head coach, she led the Bulls back to the NCAA Tournament in 2025 for the first time since she was a player in 2002 and guided USF to the 2024 AAC regular-season championship, earning her first Coach of the Year Honor. In 2023, the Bulls won the American Conference East Division, made a postseason appearance in the NIVC, and advanced to the Fab Four to mark the longest postseason run in program history.
South Florida Volleyball has won nine Player of the Year honors, most recently with Maria Clara Andrade winning American Conference honors in back-to-back years in 2024 and 2025. The Bulls have also earned four Setter of the Year honors, most recently with Caroline Dykes being recognized in 2024.
South Florida volleyball has made eight NCAA Tournament appearances and won 13 conference titles since the program’s inception in 1972. The Bulls play in The Corral (1,000), located adjacent to the Yuengling Center on the USF campus in Tampa.
