Authorities are looking for a driver who hit two minors on an electric bicycle and left the scene late Wednesday.
The hit-and-run crash happened in the area of Northwest 117th Street and Northwest 7th Avenue. Deputies were called to the scene at around 8 p.m.
According to a preliminary investigation, a driver was going north on Northwest 7th Avenue approaching Northwest 117th street when they made a left turn and hit the juveniles.
The victims are a boy and a girl who were found “lying on the roadway, both unresponsive.”
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue took the victims to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition.
MDSO Traffic Homicide Unit detectives have assumed the investigation, which is active and ongoing.
