Miami police arrested two men, ages 89 and 73, on armed cocaine trafficking charges Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026.
Two men, ages 89 and 73, were caught with a house full of cocaine, marijuana and guns after Miami police conducted a raid Wednesday afternoon following an undercover sting in August, according to their arrest reports.
An undercover officer bought a $60 bag of cocaine from 73-year-old Magdaleno Medina on Aug. 19 at his trailer in the 17-block of Northwest 19th Avenue, police said.
At 3 p.m. Wednesday, officers, including members of the SWAT team, executed a warrant at the home, according to the men’s arrest report.
Inside they found a total of 141 grams of cocaine in multiple small plastic bags, 1,278 grams of marijuana, also in small bags, a Smith & Wesson .38 revolver and a Sig R365 9. mm semiautomatic pistol and ammunition for both firearms, according to the report.
The revolver was reported stolen in an out-of-county case, and the .9 mm was reported stolen in Doral, according to the report.
Police arrested Magdaleno and 89-year-old Cesar Valdes at the house, where they both live, according to their arrest reports.
Both men were booked into Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on charges including armed cocaine trafficking and grand theft of a firearm.
Both men, who were born in Cuba, are also being detained on an immigration hold, according to jail records. They are being represented by attorneys with the Miami-Dade County Public Defender’s Office, which did not immediately respond to the Miami Herald’s request for comment.
