Officers responded Saturday, Sept. 5, to a reported shooting in the 2700 block of East Colonial Drive. WESH 2 News went to the area that day and observed crime scene tape.
The victim in this case was working in the area when he was approached by the teen, who began yelling at him while displaying a firearm, the release states.
As the victim tried to get away from the teen, the suspect continued to approach him and tried to punch him, leading to a physical altercation, police said.
“During the altercation, (the teen) fired three shots, striking the victim, before fleeing the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital in stable condition,” the release states. “Through the course of this investigation, detectives developed multiple leads that identified (the teen) as a suspect.
