Assistant Chief Aaron Rhodes of the Orlando Fire Department reflects on traveling to New York after 9/11 to support the FDNY and honor those who lost their lives.
As the nation remembers the first responders lost on 9/11, Assistant Chief Aaron Rhodes of the Orlando Fire Department shared his experience of traveling to New York to support the FDNY in the aftermath of the attacks.
Rhodes said he joined the effort by flying from Florida to New York to assist his friends and colleagues at the FDNY.
He, along with firefighters from across the country, spent months attending funeral services in New York City.
Rhodes reflected on the invaluable sense of camaraderie that emerged in the wake of the attacks.
