TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A select group of men and women pushed themselves to the limit Thursday as they tried out for the Tallahassee Police Department’s TAC Team.
To earn a place on the team and wear the specialized gear, candidates had to demonstrate the discipline, endurance and mindset needed to perform in high-stakes situations.
The department described the tryouts as a measure of readiness for when officers are called into demanding scenarios. “At TPD, we believe in constantly raising the standard, and TAC is another example of our commitment to being prepared, professional, among the best and” the department said.
