After more than a year dark, Havana Harry’s is coming back to Coral Gables.
The Cuban comfort-food room at 4612 South LeJeune Road has been a Gables fixture since 1995 — birthdays, graduations, Sunday lunch, the table you take visiting family because everyone already knows the menu. Centurion Restaurant Group, which has owned it since 2022, is reopening it this fall with a brighter dining room and the same kitchen logic: big plates, approachable prices, the dishes people actually order.
The room gets a lift — green leather booths, mosaic tile, greenery, Cuban-inspired art — without turning into a concept. “Our responsibility was never to reinvent Havana Harry’s,” said Carlos Centurion, founder of Centurion Restaurant Group. “It was to protect what generations of guests have loved, while building a restaurant that will serve this community for many years to come.”
That group also runs Bulla Gastrobar, Pisco y Nazca, and Beehive Kitchen. Here, the brief was simpler: keep the recipes.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner return daily. Expect the usual stack — tostones, croquetas, Cuban sandwiches — plus the plates that built the place: ropa vieja, arroz con pollo, lechoncita, and the signature Chicken Vaca Frita, shredded chicken sautéed with onions, garlic, and their seasoning blend until it crisps. Mornings are café con leche, cortadito, colada. Dessert is flan, tres leches, cakes, and the “Overdose” milkshakes.
Michelin has listed it. Locals have argued over it for three decades. The point of this reopening is that the argument can start again.
“We can’t wait to welcome our guests back,” Centurion said. “Families have been asking us every week when they can return, and now we are finally ready for them.”
