FHP: Driver arrested after doing doughnuts in Lee County parking lot

  • September 13, 2026

LEE COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) – A Lehigh Acres man is facing multiple criminal charges after Florida Highway Patrol troopers say they caught him performing doughnuts in a 7-Eleven parking lot in Lee County.

The incident happened around 11:48 p.m. Saturday, September 12, near State Road 82 and Sunshine Boulevard.

According to FHP, troopers observed the driver repeatedly performing doughnut maneuvers in the parking lot. When troopers attempted to stop the vehicle, they say the driver fled within the parking lot.

Troopers say the driver later got out of the vehicle and threw his wallet underneath a tree in an apparent attempt to hide his identity.

FHP says troopers found the wallet and identified the driver as 30-year-old Robins Wilky Alexandre of Lehigh Acres.

During the investigation, troopers also discovered cocaine concealed inside Alexandre’s boot, according to the agency.

Alexandre was arrested and faces several charges, including:

– Fleeing and eluding

– Resisting without violence

– Street racing/stunt driving

– Tampering with evidence

– Possession of cocaine

– Driving with a revoked license as a habitual traffic offender

– Reckless driving

FHP says Florida law prohibits racing, street takeovers and stunt-driving activity on highways, roadways and parking lots. The law specifically defines a “doughnut” as a maneuver in which the front or rear of a vehicle rotates around the opposite set of wheels in a continuous motion, potentially creating circular skid marks, tire smoke or both.

Under Florida law, a vehicle used in a violation of the state’s racing and stunt-driving statute may also be immediately impounded for 30 business days for a first offense.

FHP is reminding drivers that stunt driving in parking lots and on Florida roadways can put other motorists and pedestrians at risk and can lead to criminal charges and vehicle impoundment.
