ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – Specialty grocer Trader Joe’s is planned for the Legends Landing retail development at World Commerce Center in St. Johns County, according to a development plan reviewed by the Jacksonville Daily Record.
The store is identified as a 12,500-square-foot building on a plan prepared by civil engineering firm England-Thims & Miller.
Legends Landing is situated directly behind Costco, Buc-ee’s and Bass Pro Shops along International Golf Parkway — putting it in the middle of one of St. Johns County’s fastest-growing retail corridors.
The Jacksonville Daily Record also reports the plan identifies Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse, Hobby Lobby, Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen and Floor & Decor as planned tenants. A 140,500-square-foot anchor space is also shown on the plan but not named.
Legends Landing is backed by a partnership including Stiles Retail Group, Cantrell & Morgan and FCA Partners, according to the Jacksonville Daily Record. The group acquired more than 93 developable acres at World Commerce Center for $45 million in February. The transaction included land set aside for the project along International Golf Parkway, next to Costco, Bass Pro Shops, Home Depot and Buc-ee’s.
In an Aug. 27 statement, Stiles Vice President of Marketing Adrienne Zalkind said the project has continued to evolve since its initial planning stages.
“There were several conceptual plans under consideration back in February, but the project has continued to evolve, and we have now identified our anchor tenant,” Zalkind wrote. “While we’re not yet at liberty to disclose the tenant’s name, we’re confident they will be a great fit for the growing World Commerce Center and St. Johns County community.”
