Hollywood vet releases Miami Gardens Police Department K-9 Gael

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — A VCA Animal Hospital veterinarian released K-9 Officer Gael with a cone around his neck on Tuesday in Hollywood.

The Miami Gardens Police Department’s 2-year-old Labrador retriever was back home after vanishing for about six days.

Gael jumped out of the MGPD patrol car and bolted across Northwest Second Avenue on Sept. 7, police said.

A resident recognized Gael and called police on Sept. 13 to report the K-9 was at North Miami Avenue and Northwest 191st Street.
