TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Law enforcement and child safety advocates gathered Monday at the Tallahassee Automobile Museum to spotlight missing children across Florida and promote prevention efforts.
The Leon County Sheriff’s Office joined the Florida Missing Children’s Day Foundation, the Missing & Endangered Persons Information Clearinghouse Advisory Board and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for the 28th Annual Florida Missing Children’s Day.
Organizers said the event is designed to increase awareness about children who are currently missing in Florida, educate the community on child safety and abduction prevention, and honor individuals and law enforcement officers who have made significant contributions to the cause.
The Leon County Sheriff’s Office also expressed support for families still searching for their children, extending “thoughts and prayers to the families of missing children.”
