A Florida mother and her son were arrested and charged with incest after police were called to their home for a “domestic violence event.”
Christina Clemens of Lakeland, Fla., was charged with one count of incest and one count of living in open adultery, according to inmate records reviewed by PEOPLE. Christina, 46, is being held on a $5,250.00 bond for both charges. Her son, 22-year-old Shane Clemens, was charged with one count of incest and one count of domestic violence battery, touch or strike, and is being held without bond.
Shane was booked on Aug. 21, while Christina was booked several days later on Aug. 27, per the records.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said in a video shared on social media Tuesday, Sept. 15, that police were called to their home for reports of a “domestic violence event” between Christina and Shane, in which Christina claimed her son struck her.

“Shane, you ought not to ever lay a hand on your mama for a lot of reasons, but you have one more reason why you shouldn’t,” Judd said in the video.

After being arrested for domestic violence, Shane then claimed to police that he had been having sex with his mother since he was 18 years old.
When interviewing Christina about Shane’s claim, Judd said she told police she had intercourse with her son “only about 100 times.”
Investigators then asked Christina’s husband, who confirmed to police they were “happily married,” if he was aware of the incest between the mother and son.

“‘Were you aware that your wife was having sex with her son?'” Judd recalled asking Christina’s husband. “He said, ‘No, I absolutely was not. But I think I am a little suspicious that they used to go in the master bedroom and lock the door.’ “
