CAPE CORAL, FL — The Cape Coral Police Department has arrested 51-year-old Keith Michael Brailey (DOB 06/24/1975) of Cape Coral in connection with an early morning residential burglary, theft, and resisting arrest.

On August 25, 2026, CCPD officers responded to a residential neighborhood in the northeast section of Cape Coral regarding the theft of a high-value electric bicycle. The suspect entered the gated yard of an occupied residence at approximately 5:37 AM, targeted the area where the $2,600 e-bike was stored, and removed the property.

Exemplifying thorough and dedicated investigative work, detectives from the CCPD Property Crimes Unit spearheaded the follow-up investigation. Detectives gathered key digital evidence and conducted comprehensive investigative follow-ups. Through detailed analysis of evidence gathered during the investigation, Property Crimes detectives conclusively identified Brailey as the primary suspect. Investigators determined that Brailey had been present at the location shortly before the incident, allowing him to familiarize himself with the property layout prior to the theft.

On September 16, 2026, CCPD officers located Brailey at his residence. Upon seeing law enforcement, Brailey actively fled from officers into the residence and attempted to evade arrest. After officers secured the perimeter, Brailey surrendered and was safely taken into custody.
