A strong cold front will sweep through South Florida on Monday, ushering in a sharp cool-down across the region for Veterans Day.

Temperatures will tumble to near-record lows Tuesday morning, with mid-to-upper 40s expected across Broward and Miami-Dade County metro areas.

Breezy conditions will make it feel even colder, with “feels like” readings briefly dipping into the lower 40s.

Residents of the Florida Keys will feel the unusual November chill with lows falling into the lower to mid-50s to begin the day.

The last time November low temperatures dipped below 50 degrees in South Florida was 2018.

The arrival of such a pronounced airmass behind the front will likely keep high temperatures from reaching 70 degrees on Tuesday afternoon.

Breezy conditions will prompt a high risk for rip currents through Tuesday evening.

In addition, the brisk winds will prove hazardous for boaters as 9 to 14-foot seas are possible with the strong, persistent winds.

A Small Craft Advisory will remain in effect until Wednesday morning for the Atlantic waters adjacent to South Florida.

This dramatic cool spell will be brief, however, as temperatures return to near-normal levels by Thursday and continue through the weekend. Dry, but comfortable, conditions will extend through next weekend.
