Kevin Newell has been named the new board chair of the Greater Miami & The Keys Chapter of the American Red Cross for the 2026-2027 term. In the role, he will lead the chapter’s board of directors, working with local business and civic leaders on the Red Cross mission across Miami-Dade and Monroe counties.
Newell brings 37 years of executive leadership experience, most notably at McDonald’s Corporation, where he served as corporate executive vice president and global chief brand officer, and earlier as president of McDonald’s West Zone. Following Hurricane Katrina, he led rebuilding efforts across McDonald’s Great Southern Region.
Krista Coletti, regional chief executive for the American Red Cross South Florida Region, said Newell’s leadership experience will help the chapter deepen its ties to the communities it serves.
The Greater Miami & The Keys Chapter provides disaster relief, preparedness education, lifesaving training and support to military families throughout Miami-Dade and Monroe counties, relying on volunteers and community donations to carry out its work.
